  • Harlyn Bay is known for being a great family beach.  The wide crescent of yellow sand provides plenty of space and the waters here are generally safe for swimming during the summer months, when there is lifeguard cover.  There is lots to keep kids occupied too with rock pools, sand dunes and a small stream.  Approximately 2.5 miles away.  .  For further information check out www.cornwall-beaches.co.uk
  • Hawkers Cove situated at the mouth of the River Camel, this secluded beach does not really ever get crowded despite being a beautiful spot and being so close to Padstow.  The off the beaten track is reflected in the lack of facilities including no lifeguard cover. SHELTERED COVES, QUIET BAYS & ROLLING SURF.

With an abundance of beaches North Cornwall has some of the finest and leaves you spoilt for choice. With miles and miles of coves and inlets to be discovered with long unbroken stretches of golden sand along the North Cornwall this is why visitors return year after year. With the majesty of the scenery and the raw power of Mother Natures Sea this coastline is surely one of the most spectacular at any time of the year and thus must be treated with care and respect.

To the north of the town and accessible by the coast path is a super stretch of sand from St Georges Cove to Harbour Cove and Hawkers Cove. The walk from Padstow to St Georges Cove takes about 20 minutes with great views across the estuary. Harbour Cove is just further along the coast.  The walk out to the headland to Stepper Point (The Sleeping Dragon) provides the most stunning view’s of the estuary including Daymer Bay, Rock and up the estuary to the old Iron Bridge which is part of the Camel Trail. Padstow is connected via a ferry service to the village of Rock.

At low tide you can access the first of these beaches, known as Chidley Pumps or Lower Beach, from a path off to your right about 2 minutes walk from the town.  There is access over the rocks to Chapel Bar at low tide although care must be taken not to get cut off as the tide comes in.  The ferry and other boat trips leave from lower beach at low tide. When the tide is high you need to walk to the War Memorial and down the other side to St George’s Well at the bottom of the hill.

Parking: There is parking in Padstow however this does get very busy in the summer season.

Facilities: Toilet facilities are situated in Padstow with shops and cafe’s.

Dogs: Dogs are banned from St Georges Cove from Easter Day to October 1 however are permitted at Chidley Pumps, Chapel Bar, Harbour Cove and Hawkers Cove.

Within walking distance from the popular harbour town of Padstow and Rock and located in a wooded valley next to a former mill house, each glamping pod has it’s own kitchen and dining area, shower and W/C, comfortable double bed & sofa bed. The area extends outside with a large decked area for you to enjoy the long summer evenings or cosy on up to your own firepit. At the end of a long farm track it is a delightful environment for children and animals, free from passing traffic.

You can enjoy a communal stone burning pit where you can sit and watch the evening sun going down in a sheltered spot, the kids will love toasting marshmallows. Magnificent beaches are no more than 2 miles away where you can ride the Atlantic rollers or simply walk along the coastal path and view the stunning scenery. There are wonderful walks from our properties which are surrounded by beautiful countryside.

It is a short distance from Padstow town, where you can dine in style at celebrity restaurants and a host of other great outlets to suit all budgets, amongst its winding streets including intimate cafes and tea rooms. Rick Steins, along with many other restaurants, make it a favourite area for Cornish eating. The A39, 2 miles away, links north and south Cornwall and is ideal for exploring attractions such as The Eden Project, Tate Gallery at St Ives, Minack Theatre and many more. For cycling enthusiasts the Camel Trail offers traffic free cycling and walking winding its way through Wadebridge and Bodmin.

We had an amazing stay in the pod! It was in a great location, and acted as a perfect hub with such easy access to Padstow, and all of the other surrounding towns/villages! The location itself is perfect with enough distance from the outside world to enjoy the tranquility of the creek, but with lovely restaurants on the farm itself, and short walking/driving routes into Padstow.

A wonderful woodland setting surrounded by wildlife and the sound of birdsong. An easy, forty minute walk to Padstow on the footpath. Plenty of wood available for making outdoor fires on the wood burner/barbecue and a good space for outdoor cooking and seating.

Really smart little ‘glamping’ pod in a picturesque location. Easy to get into Padstow by a footpath (although a little muddy by October!). Plus several nice pop up restaurants within a few mins walk – we went to craftworks secret garden which was great! Would definitely book this place again.
